A Pair of Harley-Davidson OEM Chrome Exhaust Head Pipes and Mufflers Part Number 55344-99 - This lot consists of two matching motorcycle exhaust assemblies, each comprising a chrome-plated head pipe and a tapered muffler. The pipes are constructed from steel with a bright chrome finish and include integrated mounting brackets and a black-coated crossover tube section. One muffler features a stamped rectangular inscription on the lower mounting rail that reads: THIS HARLEY-DAVIDSON EXHAUST SYSTEM 55344-99 MEETS EPA NOISE EMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS OF 80 dB (A) FOR THE FOLLOWING MOTORCYCLES: FXD1340/1450... INSTALLATION OF THIS EXHAUST SYSTEM ON MOTORCYCLES NOT SPECIFIED MAY VIOLATE FEDERAL LAW. The part number suffix -99 identifies the design origin as 1999, typical for Harley-Davidson Twin Cam 88 Dyna models produced between approximately 1999 and 2005. The assembly includes standard worm-gear clamps and flanged header pipe ends for engine mounting. Both exhaust components are in used condition with visible wear throughout. There is significant heat-induced discoloration, including yellowing and blueing, on the header pipes near the engine flanges (photo 1, photo 4). The chrome plating on the mufflers shows extensive surface pitting, oxidation, and localized rust, particularly near the mounting brackets and seams (photo 2, photo 6). The crossover tube section exhibits scuffing and loss to its black finish (photo 3, photo 5). Carbon soot accumulation is visible inside the exhaust tips and header openings (photo 2, photo 4). Various surface scratches and abrasions are present along the length of both pipes.
