Vintage Black Half Shell Motorcycle Helmet with DOT Sticker - A vintage half shell or shorty style motorcycle helmet featuring a glossy black outer shell. The helmet is constructed with a hard shell, likely fiberglass or plastic, finished with a black rubber edge trim. The interior is fitted with a fabric and foam lining and includes integrated leatherette ear flaps. A nylon chin strap is secured with metal D-ring fasteners. The helmet features a series of metal rivets and snaps around the lower perimeter for potential accessory attachment. A small leatherette goggle strap with a metal snap is located at the center rear. Applied to the rear of the shell is an oval yellow adhesive label with printed black characters reading DOT. On the left side of the shell, there is a rectangular adhesive residue mark where a previous label or reflective tape was applied; the remaining characters are not legible. No other maker names or branding are visible on the exterior or interior components. The helmet is in well-used vintage condition and is offered as a collectible display piece only. The exterior black finish shows significant surface scratching, scuffs, and abrasions throughout all views (photos 1, 2, 3). The DOT sticker is yellowed, worn, and peeling at the edges (photo 2). Visible rust and oxidation are present on the metal rivets, snaps, and the rear goggle strap fastener (photos 1, 2). The interior fabric lining is heavily discolored, having faded from its original color to a brownish tone, and shows signs of compression and age-related deterioration (photo 4). The leatherette ear flaps and chin strap exhibit heavy wear, surface cracking, and dirt accumulation (photo 4). The metal D-rings on the strap show surface oxidation (photo 4).
