A Set of Chrome Specialties Fat Bob Style 5.0 Gallon Motorcycle Gas Tanks Part Number 260131 - A Taiwanese-made motorcycle gas tank set constructed from raw steel. The set consists of two split tanks in a 5.0-gallon Fat Bob configuration. A white adhesive label on the original cardboard shipping box bears a blue logo for Chrome Specialties and the printed text 260131 SET, GAS TANK F/BOB 5.0 GAL, FIT BIGTWIN 4SP S TO 1984 (EXCEPT FXST), and MADE IN TAIWAN. The manufacturer address is listed as CHROME SPECIALTIES 4220 DIPLOMACY ROAD FORT WORTH, TEXAS 76155. The cardboard box is also printed with the words GAS TANK and P/N: in black block letters. The tanks feature top filler bungs and lower fuel outlet bungs. One tank appears to have a pre-installed fuel gauge or cap assembly. The items remain in their original clear plastic bags inside the manufacturer's packaging. The gas tanks are in New Old Stock (NOS) condition. The raw steel surfaces show localized areas of light surface oxidation and brownish residue typical of long-term storage (photo 1, 3). The original plastic wrapping is intact but shows some dust and grime. The original cardboard shipping box shows moderate wear including tape residue, staining, and a small puncture on the top flap (photo 5).
