Vintage Motorcycle Peanut Style Fuel Tank with Gas Cap and Petcock - A vintage motorcycle fuel tank featuring a peanut style form. The object is constructed of motorcycle materials including steel and includes a high central tunnel for frame mounting with integrated tabs at the front and rear. The tank is fitted with an offset filler neck and a bayonet style metal fuel cap. A single petcock is attached to the underside. The exterior displays remnants of a black finish with a red, orange, and yellow graphic located toward the rear. The center of the top surface features faint, scratched-in characters that are not legible as a name or specific identifier. The underside shows peeling red paint over bare metal and rust. No manufacturer stamps, hallmarks, or part numbers are visible on the piece. The tank is in used, heavily weathered condition. Extensive surface rust and oxidation are present across the entire exterior (Photos 1, 2, 3, 5). The original painted finish is significantly degraded with widespread loss and peeling (Photos 1, 4).
