Harley-Davidson Sportster Motorcycle Fuel Tank - This is a steel peanut style motorcycle fuel tank finished in black paint, designed for Harley-Davidson Sportster models. The tank features a single front mounting tab and two rear mounting tabs, consistent with models from the Evolution engine era produced between 1982 and 2003. It is equipped with a right-side top-mounted bayonet style filler neck and a left-side rear-mounted threaded petcock bung. The tank is decorated on both sides with a circular adhesive decal. The decal features a black and orange outer ring with a top arc reading HARLEY. and a bottom arc reading DAVIDSON. The center of the decal displays the word Sportster in a stylized script, with a small central circle containing the digit 5. The underside of the tank is shaped to accommodate a single-backbone frame. The exterior black paint exhibits extensive wear, including surface scratches, deep scuffs, and small chips throughout the surface (Photos 1, 2, and 4). The graphic decals are heavily damaged, showing significant peeling, cracking, and loss of material, particularly on the left side where a white residue is visible (Photos 1 and 4). Surface rust and oxidation are present on the front mounting point and the two rear mounting tabs (Photos 3 and 5). The interior of the tank and the filler neck show visible rust and oxidation (Photo 6). The fuel cap also displays surface oxidation (Photo 2). The threaded petcock bung on the underside shows surface rust and residue (Photo 5). The item is in barn find condition, covered in surface dust and grime from long-term storage, and requires a full professional restoration.
