Vintage Tubular Steel Motorcycle Frame and Rear Suspension Assembly - A vintage motorcycle frame constructed from tubular steel, finished in black paint. The lot features a single-cradle design characterized by a large-diameter cylindrical backbone and a reinforced steering neck. A separate, heavy-duty rear subframe assembly is attached, incorporating dual external coil-over shock absorbers and elongated axle mounting plates. The construction includes a center-mounted footpeg and control rod assembly. Included with the frame is a partial rear fender in a dark red finish, featuring a vintage-style chrome-housed taillight with a red plastic lens. The frame backbone retains remnants of internal electrical wiring. No manufacturer names, serial numbers, or VIN plates are visible on the steering neck or frame tubes in the provided images. A separate cast iron object in the background, not part of the lot, bears the raised lettering PURITAN. The frame and suspension components are in used, unrestored condition. Significant surface corrosion and oxidation are present across all steel surfaces, notably on the steering neck (photo 4), weld joints, and suspension hardware. The black paint shows widespread bubbling, peeling, and loss due to underlying rust (photo 3). The electrical wiring is frayed, cut, and disconnected (photo 5). All exposed bolts and nuts exhibit heavy oxidation and seizing. The functional state of the internal shock absorber mechanisms is unknown. The rear fender shows paint chips, surface scratches, and grime consistent with long-term storage (photo 1).
