2003 United States American Silver Eagle One Ounce Fine Silver One Dollar Coin - A United States silver one dollar bullion coin struck in .999 fine silver. The obverse features the figure of Liberty walking toward a rising sun, draped in the American flag and carrying branches of laurel and oak. The word LIBERTY is inscribed in an arch along the upper rim, with the phrase IN GOD WE TRUST in the lower right field and the date 2003 at the base. The reverse depicts a heraldic eagle behind a shield, clutching an olive branch and arrows, with thirteen five-pointed stars arranged in an inverted triangle above. The legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA appears along the upper rim, while the weight and denomination 1 OZ. FINE SILVER~ONE DOLLAR are inscribed along the bottom. A ribbon in the eagle's beak bears the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM. The small raised initials JM are visible on the reverse, located just below the cluster of arrows. Diameter: approximately 1.6 inches Weight: 1 Troy Ounce. The coin exhibits prominent, multi-colored iridescent toning on the obverse, particularly around the right-hand periphery and field, displaying shades of gold, blue, and violet (photo 1). There are several small brown oxidation spots visible on the obverse field, most notably near the T and Y of LIBERTY and the T of TRUST (photo 1). The surfaces show light handling marks and minor scuffs consistent with uncertified bullion storage (photo 1 and photo 2). The reverse shows light golden toning along the rim and scattered minor spotting (photo 2).
