Art Deco Rhinestone Convertible Clip-Brooch - An Art Deco period convertible clip-brooch consisting of two matching dress clips mounted to a single pin-back frame. The assembly features a symmetrical geometric shield design with a starburst motif, heavily set with clear paste rhinestones. The arrangement includes baguettes radiating from the outer edges and center, two marquise-cut stones at the lateral centers, and numerous small round chaton-cut stones. The piece is constructed from silver-toned base metal. The reverse of the central frame is stamped with an impressed mark reading PAT. NO. 2044225, which corresponds to a 1936 jewelry clasp patent. The dual-clip mechanism allows the individual spring-loaded, pronged clips to be removed from the frame and worn separately. Length: 3 inches Width: 1.25 inches. Several baguette-cut rhinestones show age-related yellowing and graying to the foil backings as seen in the primary overview (photo 1). A few small round stones appear darkened or dead (photo 1). The silver-toned metal on the reverse exhibits minor surface wear and light oxidation consistent with age (photo 2). All stones appear present in their original settings. The pin clasp and clip hinges remain functional (photo 4).
