Italian Micro Mosaic Floral Brooch - An Italian micro mosaic floral brooch featuring a central bouquet of stylized blossoms. The design is constructed from multi-colored glass tesserae in shades of blue, yellow, pink, and white with green foliage, all set within an oval border of red glass tiles. The mosaic is housed in a yellow-toned metal frame with a twisted-rope edge. The reverse is fitted with a simple tube hinge and a long, straight pin that extends slightly beyond the frame and secures into a C-clasp. The back plate bears an impressed mark reading MADE IN ITALY in two lines of block letters. Across the widest point: approximately 1 inch in length and 7/8 inch in width. The brooch is in fair condition with visible losses. There are multiple missing, chipped, and cracked glass tesserae throughout the mosaic, particularly in the outer red border and the upper floral cluster, which reveals the underlying white cement (photo 1). The metal frame and back plate exhibit heavy oxidation, tarnish, and surface wear (photo 2 and 3). Small amounts of dust and grime are embedded between the tesserae (photo 1).
