1971-S US Eisenhower Uncirculated 40% Silver Dollar - A 1971 US Eisenhower silver dollar, struck in 40% silver at the San Francisco Mint, as indicated by the S mint mark on the obverse. This coin is presented in its original government packaging, a format widely known as a Blue Ike. The set includes the uncirculated dollar and a blue plastic token sealed in a flexible plastic film, accompanied by a white informational card and a blue paper outer envelope. The coin features the standard Eisenhower obverse and the Apollo 11 mission insignia reverse. The informational card confirms the 40% silver composition and uncirculated striking process. The blue plastic token is embossed with the text UNCIRCULATED * EISENHOWER SILVER DOLLAR * surrounding a stylized eagle. The blue outer envelope features silver-colored printing reading 1971 Eisenhower Uncirculated Silver Dollar beneath the seal of the Department of the Treasury. This represents the first year of issue for the Eisenhower dollar series. The coin appears in uncirculated condition with original mint luster visible through the sealed plastic film (photo 1).
