US 1972-S Eisenhower 40% Silver Uncirculated Dollar in Original Government Packaging - A 1972-S Eisenhower silver dollar struck in 40% silver. The obverse features a profile portrait of Dwight D. Eisenhower facing left, with the inscriptions LIBERTY above, IN GOD WE TRUST to the left, the date 1972 and the S mint mark for San Francisco at the base. The reverse depicts an eagle landing on the moon, a design commemorating the Apollo 11 mission, with the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and ONE DOLLAR. The coin is sealed in its original clear plastic cellophane along with a blue plastic token featuring an eagle motif and the text EISENHOWER * SILVER DOLLAR * UNCIRCULATED. The set includes a white paper insert providing technical specifications of the 40% silver uncirculated coin. The lot is housed in its original blue textured paper envelope which features a silver-colored Department of the Treasury seal and the script text 1972 Eisenhower Uncirculated Silver Dollar. The coin remains in its original sealed plastic housing and is in uncirculated condition with original mint luster and no visible signs of handling or wear. The blue plastic token and white descriptive insert are well-preserved. The outer blue envelope shows significant wear, including fraying and material loss along the entire top edge (photo 1, 3).
