Bidspirit auction | Boos Taxco Sterling Silver Brutalist
Boos Taxco Sterling Silver Brutalist Bar Pendant on Italian Figaro Chain - A sterling silver pendant necklace featuring a rectangular bar pendant with a brutalist-inspired geometric design. The pendant is constructed with a tabbed top and a fixed bail, and the front face is decorated with a pattern of incised horizontal, vertical, and diagonal lines. It is suspended from a sterling silver figaro link chain, consisting of three short round links alternating with one elongated oval link. The necklace is secured by a spring ring clasp. The reverse of the pendant at the base features three impressed marks in rectangular cartouches. The first mark reads BOOS in all capital letters. The second mark is a circular stamp containing a stylized eagle head profile next to the numerals 925. The third mark reads TR-24, identifying the piece as Taxco, Mexican sterling silver. The chain clasp tag is stamped ITALY on one side and 925 on the other. Weight: 0.253 ozt. The necklace is in good vintage condition. There is visible surface wear including light scratches and scuffs across the flat planes of the pendant (photo 2 and 5). Moderate tarnish and oxidation are present, particularly within the recessed lines of the geometric pattern and around the hallmarks (photo 5). The spring ring clasp shows minor tarnish but is in good working order (photo 4). No kinks or broken links are visible on the chain.
