A Group of US Silver Roosevelt and Mercury Dimes from Littleton Coin Co. - This group of United States 10-cent coins comprises silver specimens of the Winged Liberty Head (Mercury) and Roosevelt types. The collection includes coins dated 1936, 1943, 1955, 1955-D, and 1961. The Mercury dimes feature the obverse Winged Liberty Head and a reverse fasces with an olive branch. The Roosevelt dimes feature the obverse profile of Franklin D. Roosevelt and a reverse torch with olive and oak branches. Each coin is struck in 90% silver with a reeded edge. Four of the specimens are housed in clear plastic retail pouches with black printed text from the Littleton Coin Co. One pouch is labeled F5-05, 831.60, 1955, Unc-60, Roosevelt Dime, LITTLETON COIN CO., LITTLETON N.H. 03561, PRICED ACCORDING TO CONDITION. A second pouch is labeled CT2-05, 794.20, 1943, Very Fine, Mercury Dime, LITTLETON COIN CO., LITTLETON N.H. 03561, PRICED ACCORDING TO CONDITION. A third pouch is labeled F45-04, 172.05, 1936, Good, Mercury Dime, LITTLETON COIN CO., LITTLETON N.H. 03561, PRICED ACCORDING TO CONDITION. A fourth pouch is labeled CT2-04, 832.60, 1955-D, Unc-60, Roosevelt Dime, LITTLETON COIN CO., LITTLETON N.H. 03561, PRICED ACCORDING TO CONDITION. A fifth specimen dated 1961 is present outside of a labeled pouch. The coins exhibit a range of preservation levels as indicated on the retail packaging. The 1936 Mercury dime is in good condition with heavy circulatory wear and flattened design elements (photo 5). The 1943 Mercury dime is in very fine condition with moderate wear to the high points of the hair and wings (photo 3). The 1955 and 1955-D Roosevelt dimes are in uncirculated condition, graded Unc-60, retaining original mint luster and sharp strike details (photos 2 and 6). The 1961 Roosevelt dime shows light circulatory wear and minor surface toning (photo 1).
