A Pair of Sterling Silver Marcasite and Garnet Art Deco Style Drop Earrings - A matched pair of sterling silver drop earrings featuring an Art Deco inspired design. The upper geometric portion of each earring is shield-shaped and pavé-set with small faceted marcasite stones. A single pear-cut garnet in a deep red tone is bezel-set and suspended as a drop from the bottom of the shield. The earrings are constructed with pierced posts and silver butterfly push-back closures. The reverse of one earring is impressed with a 925 mark indicating sterling silver purity, followed by a small triangular symbol or the letter A. The earrings are housed in a presentation box with an interior lid embossed with the words Sterling Silver in cursive script. Length: approximately 1.125 inches Width: approximately 0.5 inches at the widest point Weight: 0.149 ozt. The earrings are in good vintage condition with natural oxidation and tarnish visible on the silver surfaces and posts (photo 4). All marcasites are present and intact within their settings (photo 5). The garnets show no visible chips or cracks (photo 5). The presentation box shows significant age-related wear, including fraying and loss to the outer fabric at the corners (photo 1).
