Bidspirit auction | A Coro Craft Duette Quivering

A Coro Craft Duette Quivering Camellia Enameled and Rhinestone Combination Brooch - A vintage costume jewelry assembly consisting of two matching floral-motif dress clips and a separate metal pin frame that allows them to be worn together as a single brooch. The design, known as the Quivering Camellia, features green enameled leaves, red baguette-cut rhinestones, and clear chaton and baguette-cut rhinestones. Each floral clip contains a central flower head accented with a round red rhinestone. The clips utilize a hinged spring-clip mechanism with teeth for attachment to fabric. The reverse of each clip bears a two-line stamp reading D.PAT 119934 and REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. One side of the pin frame is stamped in script with the name Coro Duette, and the opposite side is stamped PAT. No. 1798867. The assembly is constructed from a silver-tone and gold-tone base metal alloy. Measured across the longest point assembled: 3.5 inches Pin frame length: 2.5 inches. The set is in fair to good vintage condition. There is significant wear to the silver-tone plating on the bulbous flower elements, exposing the yellow-tone base metal beneath (photos 1, 5, 6, 7). Small chips and areas of missing green enamel are visible on several leaves (photos 1, 5, 7). A number of the clear chaton rhinestones have darkened or yellowed due to age (photos 5, 7). General surface tarnish and oxidation are present across the metal surfaces (photos 4, 8, 9, 10). The mechanical components, including the clips and the pin-back assembly on the frame, are in functional working order.
