Bidspirit auction | An Assortment of Estate Costume
An Assortment of Estate Costume Jewelry and Wristwatches Including Gruen and Capezio - An estate collection of jewelry and watches comprising approximately 35 items in various styles and materials. The lot features three quartz movement wristwatches: a gold-tone wide cuff bracelet watch with an oval face marked capezio and QUARTZ surrounded by large faux pearls; a gold-tone dress watch with a rectangular face marked GRUEN and QUARTZ featuring an interlocking circular link band; and a gold-tone watch with a tapered, textured band and an oval face marked S.P.Q.R. and QUARTZ. The jewelry assortment includes various gold-tone chains in herringbone, curb, and figaro links, along with a silver-tone multi-strand necklace with blue bead accents and a thin silver-tone snake chain. Included is a traditional rosary with white oval beads, a gold-tone center medal, and a crucifix. Small accessories consist of a pair of gold-tone cufflinks with diagonal textured stripes, a pair of large interlocking C-shaped earrings in a bag labeled GENUINE SEMI-PRECIOUS STONE, and several pairs of rhinestone dangle and stud earrings. Pins in the collection include a gold-tone Peace on Earth pin on a card marked MADE IN U.S.A., a round lapel pin with a border reading LIONS INTERNATIONAL MEMBER, a red, white, and blue enameled ribbon pin with star motifs, and a cameo stick pin featuring a profile of a woman. Two gold-tone rings are present: one signet-style with clear rhinestone accents and one textured band set with a cluster of small clear stones. A variety of pendants include a guardian angel with a large pear-shaped glass drop, a starburst religious pendant, and a blue enameled Virgin Mary medal. A gold-tone spring-coil bracelet with a faux pearl and tassel end and a rhinestone tennis bracelet are also included. The collection is displayed on a surface measuring approximately 12 inches wide by 14.5 inches long. The items show wear consistent with age and use. Surface scratches and minor tarnish are visible on several gold-tone and silver-tone chains (photo 5, photo 6). Minor fading of the gold-tone plating is present on the watch bands and some necklace links (photo 4, photo 7). The watches were not tested for functionality and likely require battery replacement (photo 1). All decorative stones and faux pearls appear to be present upon visual inspection (photo 1, photo 4). The plastic packaging for the semi-precious stone earrings shows significant creasing (photo 2).
