US 1901-O Morgan Silver Dollar - A United States 1901-O Morgan silver dollar composed of 90 percent silver and 10 percent copper. The obverse features the Morgan design of Liberty wearing a cap with wheat and cotton, inscribed with the word LIBERTY on the headband, surrounded by the legend E PLURIBUS UNUM and the date 1901. The reverse depicts a heraldic eagle within a laurel wreath, with the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and ONE DOLLAR. An impressed letter O mint mark is located on the reverse above the letters DO in DOLLAR, signifying the coin was struck at the New Orleans Mint. The coin is housed in a white cardboard and plastic coin flip. One side of the flip features handwritten black ink markings reading 1901 O and F. The reverse side of the flip features a handwritten alphanumeric code reading N8IK. The coin is in circulated condition, exhibiting moderate to heavy wear on the high relief areas, specifically the feathers on the eagle's breast and the hair details above Liberty's ear (photos 1, 2). The recessed fields show deep, dark natural toning (photos 1, 2, 3). Light surface scratches and minor rim nicks consistent with commercial circulation are present (photo 3). The handwritten F on the packaging indicates a numismatic grade of Fine.
