A Multi-Strand Mother-of-Pearl and Amethyst Longevity Lock Whistle Necklace - A multi-strand necklace composed of six strands of mother-of-pearl rice beads interspersed with small purple glass spacers. The strands are gathered into a knotted bead cluster above a gold-filled Ruyi-shaped longevity lock pendant. The pendant functions as a whistle, featuring a side-entry aperture and a rectangular sound hole on the bottom edge. The face of the pendant is decorated with an embossed floral motif and a four-character Chinese inscription read right-to-left as 長命百歲. Suspending from the base of the pendant are four spherical amethyst beads on wire pins and a central, larger carved amethyst drop in a foliate design. The necklace is finished with a spring ring clasp. The clasp bears a stamped mark reading 1/20 14KGF. Overall length: 17.25 inches Pendant width: 2 inches. The necklace is in good vintage condition with minor surface wear. There is light tarnish visible within the recessed portions of the pendant embossed design in photo 2. All bead strands and dangles are intact and secure as shown in photo 1. The spring ring clasp is in working order as seen in photo 6.
