A Pair of Catalan Amber and Mixed Media Statement Drop Earrings - A matched pair of artisanal drop earrings featuring large semi-circular elements of polished, semi-translucent orange Catalan amber. The amber sections are suspended by silver-tone wire frames from central drops composed of dark brown cylindrical beads with a matte finish, topped with small, faceted black glass beads. The earrings are finished with silver-tone fish hook earwires for pierced ears. The silver-tone metal components, including the earwires and wire junctions, show no readable hallmarks, signatures, or maker's marks. Total length is approximately 2.5 inches from the top of the hook to the bottom edge. Amber width is approximately 1.5 inches at the widest point. Amber thickness is approximately 0.375 inches. The earrings are in good vintage condition. The Catalan amber elements exhibit minor surface scratches and internal naturalistic inclusions, as seen in photo 5. Visible red-colored adhesive residue is present at the junctions where the wire frames enter the drilled holes of the amber elements, as shown in photo 2 and photo 4. The metal components show light surface wear and minor oxidation consistent with age.
