14K Yellow Gold Serpent and Opal Stick Pin - An antique-style stick pin crafted from 14K solid yellow gold. The decorative head features a coiled serpent motif, with a textured and scaled body wrapped around a central gemstone. The serpent head is visible at the base of the setting. The central stone is a pear-shaped cabochon opal exhibiting a visible play-of-color with flashes of blue, green, and orange. The reverse of the pin stem, where it joins the decorative head, is impressed with a mark reading 14K. The pin is constructed with a fixed straight stem. Total length: 2.25 inches Head length: 0.5 inches Weight: 1.14 dwt (1.77 grams). The pin is in good vintage condition. The 14K gold exhibits minor surface wear and light tarnish consistent with age (photo 4). There is visible solder and a small amount of white residue on the reverse of the head at the point of attachment (photo 4). The opal is intact and appears securely set (photo 2).
