1898-O US Morgan Silver Dollar - A struck US 1898 Morgan Silver Dollar composed of silver-colored metal. The obverse is inscribed along the rim with the legend E PLURIBUS UNUM and the date 1898 at the bottom. The headband of the central motif is inscribed with the characters LIBERTY. The reverse is inscribed with the legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and the denomination ONE DOLLAR. The motto In God We Trust is present in Gothic script above the central design. A single letter O mint mark is struck on the reverse above the characters DO in DOLLAR. Weight: 0.818 ozt. The coin exhibits heavy circulation wear across both the obverse and reverse (photo 1, 3). Design details are significantly flattened, particularly on the higher points of the central motifs. Numerous scratches are visible across the obverse field and central design (photo 1, 2). Similar wear and scratching are present across the reverse (photo 3). The surfaces feature dark, mottled toning and areas of surface grime (photo 1, 3). The rim shows several small indentations and handling wear.
