Four Venezuela 0.5 Bolivar Silver Coins, 1936-1948 - A set of four silver coins issued by the United States of Venezuela, identifying as 0.5 Bolivar denominations. The obverse features the Bolivar profile portrait, flanked by the inscriptions BOLIVAR and LIBERTADOR. The name of the engraver BARRE is struck in small block letters beneath the neck truncation. The reverse design displays the Venezuelan coat of arms centered within the legend ESTADOS UNIDOS DE VENEZUELA. Technical specifications are inscribed along the bottom edge, including the weight GR. 1.250, the date of issue, and the silver fineness LEI 835. This group includes specimens dated 1936, 1945, 1946, and 1948. Weight: 0.153 ozt. The coins display varying degrees of circulation wear. The 1936 example is heavily worn and nearly slick, with only partial legibility of the date and central shield (photo 3). The remaining three coins from the 1940s show moderate wear on the high points of the portrait and coat of arms details (photos 4-9). Surfaces across the group exhibit light gray toning, numerous fine contact marks, and light scratches.
