China 1920 Kwangtung Province 20 Cents Silver Coin - A silver coin issued by Kwangtung Province, China, dated to Republic Year 9 (1920). The obverse features the central Chinese characters 貳毫銀幣 within a beaded circle, encircled by the legend 廣東省造 at the top and 中華民國九年 at the bottom. The reverse displays a large numeral 20 with a textured fill inside a beaded border, surrounded by the legends KWANG-TUNG PROVINCE and TWENTY CENTS, separated by two small rosettes. The coin is contained within a white cardboard and plastic flip with handwritten notes reading 1912-24, Chinese, 20 Cents, .5 Silver, and 17.-. The coin is in circulated condition. The obverse shows moderate wear to the legends and central characters, with visible surface hairlines, scratches, and dark toning in the recessed areas (photo 3). The reverse displays similar wear patterns on the numeral and lettering, along with handling marks and a dull grey patina (photo 2).
