Ottoman Empire Silver 1 Para Coin Mahmud II AH 1223 - This Ottoman Empire silver 1 Para coin was minted during the reign of Sultan Mahmud II. The obverse features the Sultan's tughra within a circle. The reverse shows the accession date AH 1223, which corresponds to 1808 AD. The coin is housed in a white cardboard and plastic flip, which has handwritten notations in black ink including the date '1808', the letter 'G', and the number '25.-'. A smaller silver-colored staple secures the flip. The coin exhibits significant circulation wear consistent with its age. The surfaces show heavy toning and multiple small scratches. Some loss of detail is evident on the high points of the design.
