A Collection of World Silver and Base Metal Coins - This group of five international coins features silver and base metal issues dating from the late 18th to the mid-20th centuries. A 1939 Mexican 20 Centavos is struck in 0.720 fine silver at the Mexico City mint, identifiable by the Mo mint mark. The obverse displays the national coat of arms and the legend ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS, while the reverse features a radiant Phrygian cap and the date 1939. A silver 1/12 Thaler from the Kingdom of Hanover bears the portrait of Ernst August with the legend ERNST AUGUST KOENIG V. HANNOVER and an S mint mark; the reverse is stamped 12 EINT THALER. An 1840 Austrian Empire 20 Kreuzer silver coin features the laureate head of Ferdinand I with the inscription FERD I D G AVST IMP and a double-headed imperial eagle on the reverse dated 1840. A British silver coin depicts a bust of George III with the readable legend GEORGIUS III DEI GRATIA. The final coin is an extremely worn silver piece with a right-facing bust and traces of the words LIBERTY and AMERICA, featuring a seated figure on the reverse. Measurements from the provided ruler in inches: The coins range in diameter from approximately 0.6 inches to 0.85 inches across the widest points. The collection is in poor to fair condition with evidence of heavy circulation. The British silver coin (photo 2) and the worn US silver coin (photo 11) are nearly slick, with significant loss of central detail and legend. The Mexican 20 Centavos exhibits dark toning and thick surface deposits (photo 6). The Hanover 1/12 Thaler shows moderate wear with legends still legible (photo 4). The Austrian 20 Kreuzer has numerous fine surface scratches and localized dark oxidation on the reverse (photo 9). All coins show varying degrees of tarnish and rim nicks consistent with age and use.
