A 1900-O Morgan Silver Dollar - This United States silver dollar is a Morgan type struck at the New Orleans Mint in 1900. The obverse features the profile of Liberty facing left, wearing a Phrygian cap adorned with wheat and cotton, with a headband inscribed LIBERTY. The periphery is inscribed E PLURIBUS UNUM and the date 1900. The reverse depicts a bald eagle with wings spread, clutching an olive branch and arrows within a partial laurel wreath. The reverse is inscribed UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, In God we trust, and ONE DOLLAR. A single struck character O, indicating the New Orleans Mint, is located on the reverse above the denomination between the two ribbon ends of the wreath. The coin is composed of 90 percent silver and 10 percent copper. Weight: 0.852 ozt. The coin is in circulated condition, exhibiting moderate to heavy wear on the high points of the design, specifically Liberty's hair and the eagle's breast feathers (photos 1 and 2). Numerous small contact marks, fine scratches, and minor dings are visible across both the obverse and reverse fields (photos 1 and 2). Dark toning is present in the recessed areas surrounding the lettering and design elements (photos 1 and 2).
