Bidspirit auction | A Collection of Sterling Silver
A Collection of Sterling Silver and Mixed Metal Jewelry - A varied assortment of jewelry pieces including necklaces, earrings, charms, and bracelets. One link bracelet featuring turquoise-colored stone inlays has a component stamped with a circular mark reading MEXICO and TAXCO around a central eagle or bell symbol, with STERLING below. An expansion-style bracelet band is stamped FLEX-LET, STERLING TOP, and STAINLESS BACK on the reverse. A circular spinner charm features a frame stamped P & B STERLING and a rotating center disc with the cut-out letters I O E U. The collection further includes a pair of marcasite-set Celtic cross drop earrings, an earring with an amber-colored cabochon in a leaf-motif setting, an oval abalone shell pendant with a scalloped border, and a large colorless faceted crystal cross pendant. Additional charms comprise two pineapple forms (one solid, one openwork), a snail shell, and two miniature shoes. A fine-link chain is fitted with a spring ring clasp stamped 925, and a separate earring back is stamped STERLING. Weight: 1.204 ozt. The collection shows varying degrees of tarnish and oxidation consistent with age, notably on the abalone pendant frame and the marcasite earrings (photo 1). Surface scratches and minor abrasions are visible on the metal surfaces of the expansion band and the spinner charm (photos 3, 5). The turquoise-colored inlays and the amber-colored cabochon appear secure in their settings. The faceted crystal cross shows no significant chips or cracks (photo 1). All pieces are offered in used, vintage condition.
