Bidspirit auction | Steuben Blue Aurene Art Glass

Steuben Blue Aurene Art Glass Vase with Scroll Handles - A Steuben Blue Aurene art glass vase featuring a classical ovoid form with a flared rim and two applied scroll-form handles near the shoulder. The glass body exhibits a deep cobalt blue color under a heavy iridescent finish, displaying peacock-toned lusters in shades of green, violet, and gold. The surface shows a fine, textured onion skin iridescence. The underside of the base features a circular ground pontil mark. There is no maker name, signature, or etched mark legible on the base. Height: 5.5 inches. The vase shows significant damage to the base, with a large section of the foot rim broken away (photo 6 and 7). This loss results in an uneven footing. There is white mineral residue and surface oxidation concentrated around the broken area of the foot (photo 6). The body of the vase exhibits moderate surface scratching and fine lines of wear to the iridescent layer (photo 1 and 5).
