Hand-Appliqued and Hand-Quilted Floral Pattern Cotton Quilt with Scalloped Border - A hand-stitched applique quilt featuring a stylized floral motif arranged in a diagonal grid on point. The floral elements are constructed from alternating pink gingham cotton and green sprig-printed cotton fabrics. The quilt top is hand-appliqued to a light-colored cotton ground. The background space is filled with dense hand-quilting in a diagonal parallel line pattern, while the quilting within and around the floral motifs follows the contours of the shapes. The quilt is finished with a decorative scalloped edge featuring a green sprig-printed binding. The reverse side is a plain, light-colored cotton fabric, and the textile contains a thin internal layer of batting. No labels, signatures, or maker's marks are visible on either side of the textile. Approximately 84 inches by 82 inches. This item is in poor condition with extensive structural damage and staining. A large L-shaped section is missing from one corner, and there are additional losses along the adjacent edge (photo 1). One entire side of the quilt shows severe shredding and fraying of the top fabric, with the internal batting exposed (photo 5). Significant dark brown staining is present near the center of the piece (photo 2), with various smaller brown spots and localized areas of heavy discoloration throughout the front and back (photo 4, photo 6). The scalloped binding is heavily frayed and missing in several sections (photo 6). There are multiple small holes and tears in the top fabric (photo 3).
