Neoclassical Style Converted Cast Metal Table Lamp Base - A table lamp base designed in the Neoclassical style, featuring a two-tiered architectural form. The base is constructed from cast metal, likely spelter or white metal, with an antiqued finish in tones of brass and bronze. Decorative motifs include fluted columns, acanthus leaf scrollwork, and beaded borders, with a pierced gallery featuring floral patterns located below the socket. This item appears to be a conversion from an earlier fuel-burning lamp form. The electrical socket casing is impressed with the word PRESS and an illegible circular logo, as visible in photo 6. No other manufacturer names, marks, or country of origin labels are readable on the object. The underside is weighted and covered with green felt. Height: 14.5 inches. The metal finish shows an overall aged patina with tarnish and surface wear consistent with age throughout (photo 1).
