Octagonal Slag Glass and Metal Rose Overlay Lamp Shade - This octagonal lamp shade is constructed with eight curved slag glass panels featuring marbled amber and cream tones. Each panel is encased in a patinated metal filigree overlay with a repeating decorative motif of roses, buds, and leafy vines. The metal framework possesses a dark bronze-toned finish. On the interior, the slag glass panels are secured to the metal ribs by small metal tabs (photo 5). The shade terminates at the top in an octagonal frame with a central circular aperture. No maker marks, signatures, stamps, or labels are visible on the interior or exterior of the metal frame or the glass panels. Diameter across top aperture: 3.5 inches. The shade is in good antique condition. The metal filigree overlay is structurally sound and appears complete with no visible breaks or missing elements. There is surface oxidation and wear to the dark bronze-toned patina consistent with age, particularly visible on the top rim and along the vertical ribs (photo 2 and photo 3). The slag glass panels appear to be free of significant cracks, heat damage, or chips. There is a layer of surface grime and dust on the interior glass panels, primarily concentrated near the seams and metal tabs (photo 5).
