Pairpoint Manufacturing Company Model 3099 Art Nouveau Two Socket Electric Table Lamp Base - An American cast metal table lamp base manufactured by the Pairpoint Manufacturing Company of New Bedford, Massachusetts. The base features a square, stepped foot decorated with four stylized shell and fan motifs. The central four-sided stem tapers upwards and is ornamented with relief-cast panels depicting rose blossoms and foliage in the Art Nouveau style. The neck of the stem repeats the fan motif. The lamp is equipped with a four-arm spider shade support and two pull-chain electrical sockets. The metal surface retains a brass or bronze-toned finish over a white metal casting. One socket is stamped H & H 250W 250V MADE IN U.S.A. The underside of the base is impressed with the text PAIRPOINT MFG CO, a diamond-shaped border containing the letter P, and the number 3099. Total height to top of central finial: 20.5 inches Height to top of sockets: 18.5 inches. The original glass shade is missing (photo 1). The metal finish exhibits widespread wear, surface rubbing, and significant green verdigris oxidation concentrated in the recessed areas of the casting (photo 2, 6, and 8). One socket rim is slightly bent and misshapen (photo 4). The electrical components consist of older zip cord and a brown non-polarized two-prong plug; the wiring is untested and should be professionally replaced for safety (photo 8). The item shows a general accumulation of dust and grime throughout.
