Belais Art Deco 18K White Gold Diamond and Sapphire Stickpin - An Art Deco stickpin featuring a geometric, openwork filigree head crafted in 18K white gold. The elongated hexagonal head is decorated with milgrain detailing and fine filigree work characteristic of the period. The center is set with a round-cut colorless diamond in a square bezel, flanked by two smaller round-cut diamonds in circular bezels. Four rectangular-cut blue sapphires are channel-set in two pairs at the top and bottom of the central diamond. The reverse of the decorative head bears an impressed mark reading BELAIS 18K. The name BELAIS is impressed to the left of the gold purity mark. The straight pin stem appears to be a different metal, showing a yellowish patina, likely used for added rigidity. Total length: 2 1/4 inches Head dimensions: 1/2 inch by 3/8 inch Weight: 1.11 dwt. The pin stem exhibits a slight bend along its length (photo 1). All gemstones are present and appear securely set within their respective bezels (photo 2). The white gold head shows minor surface wear and light tarnish consistent with age, particularly on the reverse (photo 4).
