Fallbrook Railroad Presentation Globe Conductor J.D. McGannon Ruby Stained Glass Lantern Etched by Hawkes Glass - A Victorian-era ruby-stained clear blown glass railroad conductor lantern globe. The vessel features a bulbous lower body tapering to a narrower neck, with a deep ruby-red stain applied to the upper half of the clear glass. The clear section is decorated with a detailed copper-wheel engraved sporting scene depicting a multi-pointed stag running through a landscape of grass and small trees. Below the landscape, an ornate Gothic script engraving is literally readable as J. McGannon (Image 11). According to provided historical data, this globe belonged to Fallbrook Railroad Conductor J.D. McGannon and was etched by Hawkes Glass. The piece demonstrates the high-quality glasswork and personalized ornamentation typical of 19th-century conductor presentation lanterns. Height: 4 1/4 inches (Image 9). Chipped upper rim from honest wear of sliding in and out of the lantern, no cracks or breaks.
