Bidspirit auction | A Set of Four Art

A Set of Four Art Nouveau Style Polychrome Cast Metal Wall Sconce Fixtures from the Langdon Mansion - This group includes four wall sconce fixtures originating from the Langdon Mansion, consisting of two double-arm models and two single-arm models. Each fixture is constructed of cast metal, likely spelter or bronze-finished white metal, featuring an original polychrome finish with textured gold, forest green, and brick red accents. The backplates are designed with ornate Art Nouveau style foliate and scroll motifs. Each light point is fitted with a tan-colored faux-candle sleeve showing simulated wax drips. The set is accompanied by four matching pierced sheet metal shades with an intricate interlocking foliate filigree pattern in an aged brass finish. Also included are five frosted bulbs in green and red. No manufacturer name, brand marks, or signatures are visible on the exterior components shown. The wiring is original fabric-wrapped and rubber-coated cord. The original wiring is heavily frayed and shows significant rubber insulation deterioration (Photo 4, Photo 6). The polychrome paint finish shows typical age-related wear, including localized paint loss and surface oxidation (Photo 2, Photo 3, Photo 7). The faux-candle sleeves exhibit surface discoloration and small cracks at the upper edges (Photo 4, Photo 6). The mounting hardware is incomplete, with only a partial set of screws and finials present (Photo 1). Bulbs are included in as-is condition.
