Large King Sized Hand-Knotted Persian Heriz Serapi Carpet - This oversized King Sized hand-knotted Persian Heriz rug features a bold, large-scale geometric medallion design characteristic of Northwest Persian weaving. The central multi-layered medallion is rendered in navy blue, ivory, and coral-red tones, positioned on a saturated terracotta field. The field is decorated with stylized geometric floral sprays and palmettes. Four deep navy blue corner spandrels contain matching geometric motifs. The rug is enclosed by a broad main border featuring a repeating Samovar rosette and serrated leaf pattern on a light terracotta ground, flanked by multiple guard borders with scrolling vine motifs. The carpet is constructed with a wool pile on a cotton foundation. Width: 122 inches Length: 176 inches. The rug exhibits overall wear consistent with age and heavy use. Extensive areas of low pile are visible throughout the field and borders, with several large sections showing wear down to the white cotton foundation (warp and weft). General fading, color variation (abrash), and surface dust indicative of long-term storage are present.
