(Signed) - This framed eighteenth-century manuscript document is a colonial financial ledger account recording transactions between Colonel Jonathan Trumbull (1710-1785, merchant and future Governor of Connecticut) and Benedict Arnold (likely Benedict Arnold III, 1708-1761, a merchant and father of the Revolutionary War general). The single-sheet document, written in ink on laid paper, records a detailed list of transactions dating from April 6, 1752, through March 12, 1754, with a final settlement signed at the bottom on February 1, 1755.
