A Large Collection of Vintage Tobacco Ephemera and Baseball Trade Cards Titled Tobacco Americana - A large, professionally mounted and shrink-wrapped display board titled Tobacco Americana featuring an assortment of late 19th and early 20th-century tobacco-related memorabilia. The collection includes three T206-style baseball trade cards featuring Hall of Famer Joe Tinker (Chicago Cubs), Downey (Cincinnati), and Nicholls (Philadelphia Amer). Other trade cards include Errol Flynn (Player's Cigarettes), Jimmy Carney boxing (Allen and Ginter's Cigarettes), and Laura Russell (S.F. Hess and Co.'s Cigarettes). The board displays various lithographed packaging and labels such as Dan Patch Cut Plug, Old Abe (featuring Abraham Lincoln), Lockington's Standard Fine-Cut, Seven Seas, Sonny Boy, Indicator Long Cut, Free Lance, and Rosa Moro. A yellow fabric bag for Harp Plug Cut from John Weisert Tob. Co. is also included. Documentary items feature a United States Internal Revenue Special Tax Stamp dated 1879 with a full sheet of coupons for May 1879 through April 1880, an Axton-Fisher Tobacco Co. invoice dated October 1, 1937, and an A.H. Platts and Co. receipt dated July 19, 1902. Small-format items include a set of eleven tin tobacco tags mounted on cardstock for brands like Penn's and Clipper, along with a group of eight decorative cigar bands. Overall Board Dimensions: 32 x 24 inches. The collection shows various states of preservation consistent with age. The display board has minor corner bumping and the shrink-wrap exhibits light surface scuffs and wrinkling. Individual ephemera pieces show typical toning, light foxing, and minor edge wear. The Downey baseball card has a significant paper loss at the upper left corner. The Joe Tinker card shows corner wear and minor creasing. Some cigar labels show minor tears and edge-wear typical of removal from boxes. The tin tags show minor oxidation.
