Pittsburgh Lamp Brass and Glass Company Reverse Painted Landscape Table Lamp - This electric table lamp is manufactured by the Pittsburgh Lamp, Brass and Glass Company (PLB&G). It features a large domed frosted glass shade with a continuous reverse-painted landscape scene. The scene depicts a riverside at sunset with a stone-arched bridge, trees, and a lone figure, rendered in a warm palette of orange, amber, and red. The shade rests on a cast metal base with a gold-tone finish, characterized by a repeating textured pattern of overlapping leaves or scales on both the tapering stem and the flared circular foot. The underside of the base is incised with the number 1917. The lamp is fitted with a two-socket cluster featuring pull-chain switches and is topped with a pierced brass heat cap with quatrefoil cutouts and a cast floral-form finial. Shade diameter: 14 inches. The lamp is in good condition. The reverse-painted decoration is well-preserved with vibrant colors. The glass shade has several small flea bite chips along the interior bottom rim. The metal base shows surface wear, light oxidation, and rubbing to the gold-tone finish consistent with age. The lamp has been updated with a modern plastic-coated power cord. Both sockets were functional at the time of cataloging
