Flora Naranjo Santa Clara Pueblo Miniature Polychrome Redware Pottery Jar - This miniature pottery jar is an authentic hand-coiled piece from Santa Clara Pueblo, signed by the artist Flora Naranjo. The vessel is characterized by a bulbous form that tapers to a unique sub-square rim. The exterior is coated in a stone-polished red slip, which serves as the ground for a decorative band of Tewa-style geometric motifs. The designs include stylized mountain and feather elements rendered in matte tan and dark red slips, with all patterns defined by thin white slip outlines. The interior displays the natural buff color of the fired clay. The base is incised with the signature Flora Naranjo Santa Clara and contains a remnant of a paper sticker. Diameter: 3.25 inches. The pottery jar is in very good condition. There are no visible chips, cracks, or repairs. The polished finish shows light surface scuffing from handling. There is adhesive and paper residue from a previous label on the base.
