Bidspirit auction | Art Deco Figural Patinated Metal

Art Deco Figural Patinated Metal and H.C. Fry Jadeite Glass Tray - This Art Deco decorative object features a stylized kneeling nude female figure cast in metal with a dark brown to black patina. The figure is depicted in a graceful, kneeling pose, holding a circular metal tray aloft. This tray contains a removable, shallow circular insert made of translucent jadeite green glass. The entire figure is mounted onto a square plinth base also crafted from jadeite green glass. The underside of the jadeite base is marked with the molded relief text FRY GLASS, identifying the glass components as products of the H.C. Fry Glass Company of Rochester, Pennsylvania. The piece is characteristic of the Art Deco period aesthetic, combining stylized human forms with geometric foundations and vibrant colored glass. The metal figure retains a dark patina with surface wear and light scratches, primarily visible on the interior of the metal tray holding the glass insert. The jadeite glass insert and base are in good condition with no visible chips, cracks, or significant abrasions. The underside shows the figure is secured by two threaded studs and nuts, which exhibit significant surface rust and corrosion. A small amount of white residue is visible at the contact points where the metal knees meet the glass base.
