This cylindrical vessel features a thick everted rim and two applied lug handles. The front is decorated with an elaborate slip-trailed cobalt blue foliate wreath motif that encircles a large numeral 3, signifying the crock's three-gallon capacity. The shoulder is impressed with the maker's mark reading BURGER and CO. over ROCHESTER N.Y. The interior is coated with a dark brown slip, likely Albany slip.
