A Pair of Steuben Snail Scroll Hand-Formed Crystal Bowls - A pair of hand-formed colorless lead crystal bowls produced by Steuben Glass Works. These pieces belong to the Snail Scroll series, featuring applied solid crystal handles in a distinctive scrolled form. The larger bowl features a single scroll handle, while the smaller bowl features two scroll handles positioned on opposite sides. Both items are crafted from high-clarity lead crystal, a signature of the Steuben factory. Each piece bears an etched cursive Steuben signature on the underside of the base. These forms were variously marketed as ashtrays, nut bowls, or sugar bowls during the mid-20th century. Large bowl: 4 inches diameter, 5 inches total width Small bowl: 2.5 inches diameter, 3.75 inches total width. Both pieces exhibit significant surface scratching and heavy shelf wear on the undersides of the bases. Faint surface scuffs and minor scratches are present on the interior and exterior of the bowls. No chips, cracks, or evidence of professional repair were observed. The glass retains its original clarity and brilliance.
