A 1944 Lee Industries Magic Marvel Wonder Answer Board - A double-sided vintage game board constructed of heavy printed pressboard with rounded corners. The primary face functions as a talking board, featuring a yellow ground with red and black graphics. The layout includes two arched rows containing the complete alphabet, a numerical sequence from 0 to 9, and the words YES, NO, and FINIS. The board is decorated with stylized figures in turbans, crystal balls, playing cards, and twelve zodiac symbols within circular vignettes. A central red cartouche is printed with the text MAGIC MARVEL TRADE MARK THE WONDER ANSWER BOARD. The reverse side features a red and black checkerboard pattern framed by a border of playing card suit symbols and chess piece icons. This side also includes detailed printed text sections titled ANSWER BOARD DIRECTIONS and THE MYSTERIOUS TALKING BOARD. The front face bears a printed black mark in a white rectangle at the bottom center reading Lee INDUSTRIES CHICAGO. A printed line of black text along the bottom left edge reads COPYRIGHT 1944. LEE INDUSTRIES. CHICAGO. Length measures approximately 18 3/4 inches. The board is in fair to good condition, showing wear consistent with age and use. Significant fraying and delamination of the pressboard substrate are visible along the edges and at the corners (Photos 1, 3, 4). There is scattered pigment loss and surface abrasion across both sides, most notably on the letters G and W (Photo 1) and across the red and black squares of the checkerboard (Photo 4). A vertical crease is present in the printed surface at the bottom left near the copyright mark (Photo 2). General staining, foxing, and fine surface scratches are present throughout (Photos 1, 4).
