Bidspirit auction | Art Deco Uranium Slag Glass

Art Deco Uranium Slag Glass and Cast Iron Floor Lamp - An Art Deco period floor lamp, circa 1920s-1930s, featuring uranium slag glass components and a decorative cast iron base. The vertical stem consists of three tapering sections of marbleized yellow and green slag glass, separated by matching glass disc spacers and cast metal collars. The central metal pole has a square profile and is decorated with an intricate embossed foliate and scrollwork pattern. The lamp is topped with a brass-toned double-socket cluster with dual pull-chain switches and a painted acorn-form finial. The base is comprised of a square, tiered slag glass insert set within a heavy, four-footed decorative cast iron frame. The lamp is fitted with older electrical wiring and needs to be rewired for safe use. The lamp is in fair antique condition. Significant surface oxidation and rust are present on the cast iron base and the upper socket cluster. The tiered slag glass base insert has a visible crack near the central stem. The embossed patterns on the central metal pole remain well-defined with an aged patina. The electrical cord is original and brittle, necessitating replacement. No lampshades are included with this lot.
