1919 Antique Iroquois Beaded Fast Boat Souvenir Whimsy Bag - An Iroquois beaded souvenir whimsy, identified as a Fast Boat style bag, likely created by Mohawk or Tuscarora artisans for the early 20th century tourist trade in the Niagara Falls region. The piece is constructed from tan-colored cloth with decorative raised beadwork. One side features a beaded American flag, two stylized ears of corn in green, white, and yellow beads, and the year 1919 rendered in dark blue and white beads. The reverse side depicts another American flag alongside a central beaver motif in pink, green, and white beads, followed by a stylized foliate sprig. The bag is finished with a continuous border of translucent green seed beads along the top and sides, and a looped fringe of opaque white seed beads along the bottom edge. The interior is unlined tan fabric. Length: 8 inches Height: 3 inches. The bag is in good antique condition. The cloth base exhibits minor age-related toning and light surface soiling consistent with age. There are some loose threads visible at the upper corners. The beadwork appears largely intact with no significant areas of loss visible.
