US 1900-S Morgan Silver Dollar - A circulated United States 1900 Morgan silver dollar composed of 90% silver and 10% copper. The obverse displays the left-facing profile of Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap with wheat and cotton blossoms, a headband inscribed LIBERTY, the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM, and thirteen stars. The reverse features a heraldic bald eagle with outstretched wings clutching an olive branch and arrows, partially enclosed by a laurel wreath, with the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, ONE DOLLAR, and the motto In God we trust in Gothic script. A single embossed S mint mark, signifying production at the San Francisco Mint, is located on the reverse between the eagle's tail feathers and the denomination (photo 3). The edge is reeded. This date had a total mintage of 3,576,000 pieces. Weight: 0.858 ozt (photo 4). This specimen is in circulated condition with moderate, even wear throughout. Significant loss of detail is visible on the highest points of the design, including Liberty's hair above the ear (photo 1) and the eagle's breast feathers (photo 2). The coin exhibits a silver-white color with darker grey toning concentrated in the recessed areas around the lettering and devices (photos 1 and 2). Numerous small contact marks and light scratches are visible in the fields on both sides. The reeded edge shows consistent wear but remains intact with no major dings or flat spots visible.
