German Empire 1905 E Silver 1/2 Mark Coin - This silver 1/2 Mark coin was issued under the German Empire in 1905. The obverse displays the crowned Imperial Eagle with a shield on its breast and an oak wreath. At the bottom center of the obverse, there is a single impressed capital letter E, the mint mark for the Muldenhütten mint. The reverse shows the denomination 1/2 MARK in the center, encircled by an oak wreath. The legends DEUTSCHES REICH and the date 1905 are inscribed along the periphery. The coin is struck in .900 fine silver. The coin shows significant circulation wear, particularly evident on the high points of the eagle's feathers and the leaves of the oak wreaths on both sides (photo 1, 2). Both the obverse and reverse exhibit heavy, uneven dark toning and surface oxidation (photo 1, 2). Numerous small surface scratches and contact marks are distributed across the fields and design elements (photo 2).
