A Group of Five US Mercury Dimes in a 1995 SSCA Presentation Case - A group of five US one dime coins, known as Mercury or Winged Liberty Head dimes, presented in a commemorative plastic case. The coins are composed of 90% silver and feature the Winged Liberty Head obverse and fasces reverse designs by Adolph A. Weinman. This collection includes coins with the visible dates of 1919, 1920, 1936, 1938, and 1942. The front of the holder is labeled with the text MERCURY DIME COLLECTION and United States Minted Coin Set. The reverse features a blue card with white text detailing the history and 90% silver composition of the series. A printed mark at the bottom left of the card reads ©1995 SSCA. A blue graphic resembling a block of four postage stamps is printed in the lower right corner. The Mercury dime series was produced by the US Mint from 1916 through 1945. The five coins are in circulated condition, showing moderate wear to the high points of the hair, wings, and fasces (photos 2, 4). Natural toning and minor surface marks consistent with age are present on all specimens (photos 2, 4). The plastic presentation case shows surface scratches and scuffing from handling (photos 1, 3).
