US 1891-O Morgan Silver Dollar - This US 1891-O Morgan silver dollar is composed of 90 percent silver and 10 percent copper. The obverse features the left-facing profile of Liberty with the date 1891 inscribed at the base. The reverse depicts a heraldic eagle with the mint mark, an impressed capital letter O representing the New Orleans Mint, located above the letters DO in the word DOLLAR (photo 3). The coin is contained within a white cardboard and plastic 2x2 flip holder. The holder bears handwritten notations in blue ink including the letter A in the upper left corner, the date and mint mark 1891 O in the upper right corner, and the figure 20.00 in the bottom right corner. The coin is in circulated condition. Significant wear is visible on the high points of the design, specifically Liberty's hair and the cotton bolls on the obverse (photo 1), and the eagle's breast feathers and wing tips on the reverse (photo 2). Mottled gray and dark brown toning is present across the surfaces of both sides (photos 1, 2). Numerous small contact marks and faint scratches are distributed across the fields and design elements.
